Minimum requirements for admission into program:
All candidates should have completed their anesthesia training or be within 1 year of completion of their training AND have passed all certification exams required for the practice of anesthesia in the country where their training was undertaken.
Canadian applicants should have their FRCPC.
US applicants need an extra year after their CA-3 year before starting and must be board-eligible.
Candidates from the Ireland/United Kingdom must be within 1 year of completing their training with successful completion of certification examinations.
Candidates from Australia or New Zealand must have completed their training or be in the final 6 months of their Fellowship year.
Applicants must be trained from a Royal College accepted jurisdiction. For a list of eligible training jurisdictions, see the following page and click on the link provided by the Royal College:

If the applicant’s medical training was done in a language other than English, the applicant is required to take an English proficiency test and submit the score with their application. Acceptable tests include the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL or TOEFL-lbt), the Test of Spoken English (TSE), or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) exam.
Deadlines:
Applications should be made 18 months in advance. Applications for fellowships commencing in July will be accepted until the 1st April 15 months before anticipated start and January applications will be accepted until October 1st 15 months before anticipated start date. Interviews for short-listed candidates only are conducted between 12 and 14 months prior to the start date, either in person or via video-conference.

(ii) Three letters of reference
(iii) Their curriculum vitae (CV) including a statement indicating the date at which they expect to complete or have completed their training.
