Peri-operative technology integration

The application of precision medicine into the perioperative period is ripe for innovation to improve postoperative outcomes on a broad scale, given the data-rich environment, recent integration with digital health platforms augmented intelligence solutions, and rise in predictive analytics. Department members are developing innovative perioperative digital health technologies such as wearable sensors, apps, virtual reality, advanced monitoring technologies, and data science technologies (predictive analytics and machine learning) to create decision support systems, to identify patients at risk for undesired outcomes long before harm occurs, and empower patients to make informed decisions.
