By 2040, neurodegenerative and psychiatric diseases are projected to be a leading cause of death and disability in Canada. Our combined research in the Department is aimed at understanding how the nervous system develops and is modified by injury, disease and our environment. The Department’s research encompasses the prediction, prevention and management of perioperative neurologic complications and optimization of perioperative brain health.
