Clinical outcomes and patient safety

RESEARCH THEMES

Clinical Outcomes and Patient Safety

The Department leverages expertise in predictive analytics and data integration to identify vulnerable patient populations and modifiable risk factors to improve outcomes. We use centralized healthcare databases for quality and safety monitoring, and evaluation research on infections and opioid use after surgery. We lead the Action on Sepsis research cluster at UBC, and champion patient participation in curriculum and research. We design, build and evaluate digital health solutions that drive the optimization of health outcomes in both low and high-income environments.
