Cardiovascular and Respiratory diseases are the top two causes of death globally, taking an estimated 21 million lives each year. Our combined research within the Department is aimed at understanding how the lung, heart and blood vessels develop and how they are damaged in diseases such as COPD, asthma, coronary heart disease and other conditions.
