Travis Schisler
Faculty Bio
I completed my medical degree and anesthesiology residency training at UBC followed by a cardiothoracic anesthesiology fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. I have been on staff at Vancouver Acute since 2014 specializing in cardiac and thoracic anesthesia, lung transplant anesthesia and perioperative transesophageal echocardiography. I am the anesthesia lead for lung transplant anesthesia and the Division Head of Thoracic Anesthesia for UBC. My academic interests are in ERAS for cardiac anesthesia and thoracic anesthesia including the perioperative management of patients with pulmonary hypertension. My early career accomplishments include implementing the use of VA ECMO to support lung transplantation at VGH and using regional anesthesia in patients undergoing minimally invasive mitral valve surgery.
