Eleanor Murray

Faculty Bio
Dr Eleanor (Ellie) Murray is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology, Pharmacology, & Therapeutics, Faculty of Medicine, University of British Columbia. Her research advances causal inference and implementation-focused methodology—target-trial emulation in real world data; estimation under time-varying treatment, misclassification, and selection biases; and simulation frameworks that connect design choices to clinical decisions. She has applied these tools across pharmaco-epidemiology, surgical pathways, reproductive health, mental health, cardiovascular disease, cancer, and infectious diseases, in collaboration with clinicians and scientists on five continents. Dr Murray holds an ScD in epidemiology and an SM in biostatistics from Harvard University, an MPH in epidemiology from Columbia University, and a BSc in Biology from McGill University. She previously was an assistant professor at Boston University School of Public Health. Dr Murray is co-author of the 3rd edition of Epidemiology: An Introduction: https://academic.oup.com/book/58923.
