Appointment of Dr. Dean Jones as Associate Dean, Fraser

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Dean Jones as Associate Dean, Fraser, effective November 1, 2017.

In his role as Associate Dean, Fraser, Dr. Jones will develop both an educational and a research strategy in the Fraser region by conducting an environmental scan of existing and potential educational and research activities in the Fraser region and identifying where these might be expanded in alignment with both UBC Faculty of Medicine and Fraser Health Authority (FHA) strategic directions. Dr. Jones will work to enhance the linkages between the Undergraduate Medical Education (UGME) program, Postgraduate Residency training programs and other health related faculties/programs at UBC, FHA and other academic institutions to promote interdisciplinary research.

Dr. Jones is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology in the UBC Department of Anesthesiology, Pharmacology, and Therapeutics. He is also the Regional Medical Director for Anesthesiology in Fraser Health and practices at Delta hospital.

Previously Dr. Jones served as Assistant Residency Program Director in the Department of Anesthesiology at Columbia University Medical Center/New York Presbyterian Hospital. His experience includes residency curriculum development and accreditation.

Dr. Jones is a graduate of Queen’s University (MD 1999) and completed residency training in Anesthesiology at both the University of Toronto and Columbia University.
