Research Day 2017 – Dr Orlando Hung – Video

The 11th annual research day for Anesthesiology Pharmacology & Therapeutics was held on May 11th. We would like to thank our guest speaker Dr Orlando Hung, Professor, Departments of Anesthesia, Surgery, and Pharmacology, Dalhousie University.

Our Guest Judge and Keynote Speaker was Dr. Orlando Hung, who is a Professor of Anesthesia, Surgery, and Pharmacology at Dalhousie University and the Victoria General Hospital. His areas of research include airway management, clinical pharmacology and drug delivery systems as
well as development of medical devices. During the last 26 years, he has received over $18 million of peer-reviewed research funding support from many organizations and institutions. Dr. Hung is recognized for excellence in his research work. He received the Discovery Award of Professional of
Distinction from the Discovery Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 2015 and the Research Recognition Award presented by the Canadian  Anesthesiologists’ Society (CAS) in 2014. For his exemplary teaching efforts, he was awarded the Teacher of the Year Award in the Department of Anesthesia at Dalhousie University in both 1993 and 2015. In 2011, Dr. Hung was awarded the Mentor of the Year Award from the Department of
Anesthesia at Dalhousie University, and in 2005, Dr. Hung received the Excellence-in-teaching Award presented by the Professional Association of
Residents in the Maritime Provinces, as well as the Research Idol Award from the Capital District Health Authority in Halifax.
